Employability & Retraining Courses

Employability courses built around real life: practical, recognised skills, learned at a pace that fits your capacity.

Employability courses for people starting again

Skill Up Break Free offers online employability courses for people rebuilding their working life – after redundancy, unemployment, illness, caring responsibilities, or any change that means the old way of working no longer fits.

Each course teaches a practical skill that can lead to paid work, self-employment or a more sustainable way of earning.

Stepping on the cracks that others step over.

Back to work courses, at your own pace

  • Online, from home or anywhere else
  • Short sessions that fit around health, family and other commitments
  • Pause and pick up again without losing progress
  • Practical tasks and knowledge checks that build confidence step by step
  • Certificate of Achievement on completion

Courses for jobseekers and Jobcentre referrals

Skill Up Break Free Ltd is a registered DWP supplier. The Guitar Repair Technician programme has been approved for referral by the DWP in Wales, and courses can form part of the work-related activity agreed with a Jobcentre Plus work coach.

A discount is available for DWP jobseekers and PIP claimants – ask your work coach, or get in touch.

Online courses for unemployed jobseekers

Skill Up Break Free offers online courses for unemployed people that can be done entirely from home, at a pace that fits. Whether a course counts toward your work-related activity depends on what is agreed with your Jobcentre Plus work coach, so ask about including one of these courses for jobseekers in your plan.

Redundancy retraining and retraining courses

Redundancy can take away more than a job. Retraining courses in a hands-on skill bring structure, purpose and something real to show for the effort. The programme has been approved for Careers Wales ReAct redundancy retraining.

Wellbeing and purpose

Learning something practical, at a manageable pace, can rebuild confidence as much as skills.

Every finished task is visible progress, and time spent on something meaningful supports wellbeing alongside employability.
