Disclaimer

Last updated: 16 September 2026

This Disclaimer applies to skillupbreakfree.co.uk and all courses, downloads, videos and other content provided by Skill Up Break Free Ltd, trading as Skill Up Break Free™ (“SUBF”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

General information only

All content on this website and within our courses — including course materials, videos, downloads, and any wellbeing or lifestyle guidance — is provided for general information and educational purposes only. We take reasonable care to keep content accurate and up to date, but we make no representation or warranty, express or implied, as to its accuracy, completeness, or currency. You should independently verify anything you intend to rely on. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SUBF is not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information provided through the platform.

Not professional advice

Content covering wellbeing, daily living, self-care, nutrition, or similar topics is general guidance, not advice tailored to your individual circumstances. It is not a substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified professional. Where anything on the platform touches on your health, finances, legal position, or personal safety, you should seek advice from a suitably qualified professional before acting on it.

Practical, hands-on skills courses

Some courses (including guitar technician and setup courses) teach techniques applied directly to your own equipment. Some of these — for example nut and saddle adjustments — are irreversible once carried out and can cause damage if done incorrectly. By taking these courses you accept that:

  • you are practising and applying these techniques entirely at your own risk;
  • SUBF is not responsible for any damage to your guitar, tools, equipment or property arising from your use of the skills, tools or techniques taught;
  • SUBF is not responsible for any personal injury arising from carrying out these techniques;
  • we recommend practising on an instrument or equipment you would not be upset to see damaged before working on anything valuable or irreplaceable, and working carefully and methodically throughout.

Publicly funded, referred, or third-party commissioned learners

Some learners come to us through a funding, referral, or commissioning arrangement with a third party — for example a Local Authority under an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or Personal Budget, Jobcentre Plus or another DWP employability programme, or another public body, employer, or organisation arranging or paying for training on someone’s behalf. Where this applies, the following also applies:

  • We are not that third-party body, and nothing provided through our courses or tuition should be read as a decision, assessment, or guarantee made on its behalf. We do not determine — and cannot influence — any decision a Local Authority, DWP, Jobcentre Plus, or other body makes about funding, eligibility, benefit entitlement, conditionality, sanctions, or any other statutory matter. Those decisions rest entirely with the relevant body, and you should raise any questions about them directly with your caseworker, Work Coach, or equivalent contact.
  • We do not guarantee any particular outcome from a course or tuition — including, but not limited to, a specific qualification being recognised by a particular examining body, school, college or employer; a return to a school setting; or any employment, interview, or job outcome.
  • Where a course or tuition is provided under an EHCP or Personal Budget, it remains your responsibility, together with your Local Authority where applicable, to confirm that the arrangement matches what is set out in the EHCP (including Section F) before it begins and as it continues. We are not a registered or approved EOTAS provider, and nothing here should be treated as SEND legal, educational psychology, or statutory advice — for that, please contact your caseworker or an independent SEND advice service such as SENDIASS.
  • Where a course or tuition is undertaken as part of a Jobcentre Plus, DWP, or other employability programme referral, we are not qualified or authorised to give advice on your benefit claim, entitlement, or conditionality requirements, and nothing provided through the course affects, satisfies, or overrides any requirement set by DWP or Jobcentre Plus. It is your responsibility to meet your own conditionality requirements and to manage your claim, and we are not responsible for any effect on your claim, entitlement, or benefit arising from your own actions, decisions, attendance, or non-attendance — including anything you say or do, or fail to say or do, in connection with your claim. Attendance or completion information may be shared with the referring or funding body solely to confirm participation, in line with our Privacy Notice, and for no other purpose.
  • Where sessions include hands-on or practical activity — for example, guitar or instrument work — the risk and responsibility terms set out above under “Practical, hands-on skills courses” apply equally to that activity when carried out as part of funded, referred, or commissioned learning.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SUBF excludes all liability for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage — including damage to property, financial loss or personal injury — arising out of or in connection with your use of the website, courses or content, however caused. Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and it does not affect your statutory rights.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for exercising your own judgement when applying anything learned through SUBF, and for the consequences of your own actions. If you are ever concerned about your own safety or wellbeing, or someone else’s, please contact emergency services or an appropriate professional.
